Job summary

Electric Power Engineers is seeking a Lead GIS Engineer to be the senior technical voice for the GIS team, focusing on architecture, data quality, and high-leverage delivery. This hands-on leadership role requires deep Esri expertise, production ETL experience, and mentoring across engineers.

You will own GIS data design, workflows, and geospatial services, while coordinating with CloudOps and product teams to support energy intelligence software and consulting deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in GIS, Geography, CS, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of professional GIS engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead role.
• Deep hands-on Esri stack experience: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Workflow Manager, Geodatabase administration.
• Production experience designing and operating ETL workflows with Safe FME or equivalent.
• Strong Python skills for spatial automation and tooling.
• Experience defining data quality standards, governance, and SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for GIS data designs, ETL workflows, and geospatial services.
• Drive the automation roadmap with hands-on design and implementation.
• Define data quality schema, attributes, QA/QC processes, and data lineage.
• Manage ArcGIS Online/Enterprise environments and coordinate with CloudOps for infra needs.
• Maintain hosted GIS infrastructure, pipelines, Portal, and batch jobs.
• Mentor analysts and engineers through code reviews and design sessions.
