Job summary

Electric Power Engineers seeks a Lead GIS Engineer to shape the geospatial data underpinning energy intelligence software and consulting deliverables. You will lead architecture, data quality, and team standards while shipping high‑leverage features.

Strong Esri expertise and production ETL experience are essential, with mentoring responsibilities and cross‑functional collaboration. You will own GIS environments, automation roadmaps, and data governance, working across U.S.

Qualifications

6+ years of professional GIS engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead role.
Deep hands‑on Esri stack experience: ArcGIS Pro, Portal/Server/Datastore, ArcGIS Online, Workflow Manager, Enterprise Geodatabase administration.
Production experience designing and operating ETL workflows with data‑driven architecture.
Strong Python skills for spatial automation and production tools.
Experience defining and enforcing data quality, schema design, QA/QC governance, and data lineage.
Experience delivering end‑to‑end GIS projects, including client handoff and professional services support.
Mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and elevating team technical standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication across product teams, executives, and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction for GIS datasets, ETL workflows, and geospatial services.
Drive automation roadmaps by designing and implementing scalable workflows and QA processes.
Own data quality standards, schemas, and QA/QC governance for GIS data.
Manage GIS environments across ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise and coordinate with CloudOps for infrastructure needs.
Oversee hosted GIS infrastructure, data pipelines, Portal management, and batch jobs.
Mentor analysts and engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and onboarding.
Lead technical syncs, surface risks early, and drive credible delivery commitments.
Serve as EPE’s technical liaison with Esri on support, product feedback, and partnerships.
Collaborate with software product teams on data requirements and integration planning across markets.
