Job summary

King County’s KCIT GIS Center seeks a Senior GIS Applications Engineer to redesign legacy workflows and migrate ArcGIS Enterprise to Azure. You’ll lead automation efforts across application development, spatial analysis, and data maintenance, partnering with a fellow senior engineer to guide systems evolution.

Qualifications

• Four years of applied professional experience using GIS technology.
• Experience with current and emerging GIS technologies.
• Strong programming skills for GIS applications and data integrations.
• Advanced skills in producing complex maps, spatial visualizations, and running analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead redesign of legacy GIS workflows for a King County agency, collaborating with another senior engineer.
• Migrate ArcGIS Enterprise from on-premises to Azure, reimagining architecture, services, and databases.
• Develop and modernize GIS applications and automated workflows used across county departments.
• Provide governance and evolution of systems, enabling a junior analyst to operate day-to-day.
