Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking a Manager-GIS to lead citywide GIS development, testing, and implementation across departments. You will coordinate architecture, governance, and project delivery to ensure reliable geospatial services for City operations.

The role requires directing budgets, vendor contracts, training, and policy enforcement to maintain scalable GIS solutions and high data quality for citywide use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, GIS, CS or related field.
• 7 years GIS operations and infrastructure project management experience.
• 3 years supervisory/management experience of GIS staff.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and manages GIS development and implementation across City departments.
• Direct GIS system architecture design strategy with ITS and Enterprise GIS Architects.
• Manage enterprise geodatabase administration, QA, and data availability.
• Translate business needs into geospatial solutions and coordinate vendor/contracting activities.
• Prepare and manage the annual GIS budget and ensure alignment with funding.
• Develop and enforce GIS policies, training, and operational standards.
• Plan citywide GIS network expansion, licenses, and user management.
