Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Sr. Application Engineer to design and implement geothermal and thermal energy systems, serving as the technical liaison among customers, sales, engineering and operations in Maple Grove, MN. You will evaluate requirements, size systems and prepare proposals to deliver cost-effective heating and cooling solutions.

The role includes on-site onboarding for 1–3 months, followed by hybrid work options. Strong CAD, DX coil experience and HVAC knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in applications engineering or similar role (2+ years).
• Experience with direct expansion coils or evaporator coils using refrigerant.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure geothermal and thermal energy systems per project requirements.
• Perform load calculations, energy analyses and equipment sizing.
• Develop piping layouts, system schematics, and installation details.
• Prepare technical proposals, budgets and BOMs.
• Provide technical support during installation, startup and commissioning.
