Job summary

GTR - Geosciences Testing and Research, Inc. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical and/or Structural Engineer with 8+ years of experience to join our Massachusetts or New York offices.

The role includes leading design tasks, coordinating with Principals and Staff engineers, and overseeing project budgets and client communications. Responsibilities include engineering analyses, submittals, site visits, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in geotechnical and/or structural engineering.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering including soil mechanics, bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, lateral earth pressures.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering including steel, concrete and timber design.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and analysis of complex geotechnical and structural projects.
• Develop technical design submittals for client submission and Owner/Engineer-of-Record.
• Review design calculations, drawings, and submittals by Staff Engineers.
• Mentor and train junior staff engineers to support career development.
• Lead projects with Principals to ensure timely and profitable completion; manage multiple concurrent projects.
