Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks a Geotechnical Senior Project Manager to lead key client projects from Chesapeake office. You will supervise geotechnical and CMT projects, mentor staff, and contribute to business development while ensuring technical quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities include overseeing reports, budgets, and field activities, and serving as the primary client contact. Strong leadership, communication, and licensing requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of related geotechnical experience.
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license in each state of work or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 3 months.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiary.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through completion.
• Oversees preparation and review of geotechnical reports and recommendations.
• Ensures all project tasks from proposal to final invoice are completed accurately and on time.
• Manages project budgets, change orders, invoicing, and collections.
• Reviews field reports for quality and completeness.
• Prepares and oversees proposals and contracts.
• Serves as primary client contact and coordinates with project stakeholders.
• Hosts/project meetings to present findings and provide technical solutions.
• Supervises field investigations, drilling, and testing activities.
• Provides technical oversight and verifies calculations and recommendations.
• Mentors and develops junior staff and project managers.
• Supports staffing decisions and resource allocation.
