Job summary

Helical Drilling is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the Specialty Geotechnical Group. You will drive complex projects from preconstruction to completion, manage teams, and grow client relationships across New England.

Ideal candidates bring 7–10+ years in geotechnical construction, PE licensure, and strong leadership, negotiation, and risk-management skills. This is a remote role with travel within New England and a bonus plan as part of compensation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required; PE license required.
  • 7–10+ years of geotechnical project management experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple geotechnical projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee estimating, scheduling, budgets, contracts, and client communications.
  • Collaborate with estimating, engineering, field operations, and leadership.
  • Develop client relationships and pursue project opportunities in New England.
  • Mentor junior staff and represent Helical Drilling at industry events.

Senior Project Manager – Specialty Geotechnical Construction – Remote

Helical Drilling is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Specialty Geotechnical Group. This leadership role is ideal for a driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing complex geotechnical projects from preconstruction through completion.

As part of our estimating, business development, and project management team, you will oversee multiple high-profile projects throughout New England while building lasting client relationships and helping grow our Specialty Division.

Responsibilities
  • from estimating and proposal development through construction and closeout.
  • Manage project teams, schedules, budgets, contracts, and client communications.
  • Work closely with estimating, engineering, field operations, and executive leadership to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, general contractors, and industry partners.
  • Participate in project pursuit strategies, estimating, contract negotiations, and risk management.
  • Mentor and support Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Represent Helical Drilling at industry organizations, networking events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Present technical capabilities through lunch-and-learn presentations and other business development activities.
  • Ensure projects meet quality, safety, financial, and schedule objectives.
Qualifications
  • 7–10+ years of experience managing geotechnical construction projects and project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from estimating through construction.
  • Strong knowledge of specialty geotechnical systems, including:
  • Soil Nailing
  • Micro-piles
  • Earth Retention Systems
  • Proven business development experience with established relationships in the New England construction and engineering market.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to attend industry events and participate in client presentations and business development activities.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering required.
  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Location
  • Must reside in the New England region.
  • Travel throughout New England as project needs require.
