Job summary

Helical Drilling is seeking a hands-on Senior Project Manager to lead complex specialty geotechnical construction projects in the New England region. The role includes mentoring project teams, guiding estimating, and driving business development with clients and partners.

The ideal candidate will have 7–10+ years in geotechnical construction, PE licensure, and strong leadership, communication, and risk management skills. Travel across New England is required as projects demand.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience managing geotechnical construction projects and project teams.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects from estimating through construction.
  • Strong business development experience with established relationships in New England construction and engineering market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple geotechnical construction projects from estimating to closeout.
  • Manage project teams, schedules, budgets, contracts, and client communications.
  • Collaborate with estimating, engineering, field operations, and leadership to ensure successful execution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, general contractors, and industry partners.
  • Participate in project pursuit strategies, estimating, contract negotiations, and risk management.
  • Mentor and support Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Represent Helical Drilling at industry organizations, networking events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Present technical capabilities through lunch-and-learn presentations and BD activities.
  • Ensure projects meet quality, safety, financial, and schedule objectives.

OPPORTUNITY

Helical Drilling, an employee-owned company, is seeking ahands-on, seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead complex specialtygeotechnical construction projects, mentor and manage project team members, andplay an active role in continuing to grow our business throughout the NewEngland region.This is not a consulting role. We are looking for anexperienced construction professional with a strong background in projectleadership, estimating, business development, team management, projectoversight, scheduling, client relationships, and risk management withinspecialty geotechnical construction.The ideal candidate will bring the technical knowledge,leadership experience, and sound judgment needed to oversee projects frominitial opportunity and estimating through execution and closeout. Thisindividual will provide guidance and oversight to Project Managers and projectteams, identify and manage project risks, strengthen client relationships, andhelp drive the continued growth and success of the Specialty Division.The right candidate will be able to hit the ground running,take ownership of both projects and people, make confident decisions withlimited oversight, and serve as a senior leader within the team.If you are passionate about geotechnical construction, enjoysolving complex challenges, and want to work with one of New England's leadingspecialty contractors, we encourage you to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7–10+ years of experience managing geotechnicalconstruction projects and project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multipleprojects simultaneously from estimating through construction.
  • Proven business development experience withestablished relationships in the New England construction and engineeringmarket.
  • Excellent leadership, communication,negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-pacedenvironment with multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to attend industry events andparticipate in client presentations and business development activities.
  • Strong knowledge of specialty geotechnicalsystems, including:

  • Soil nailing
  • Tiebacks
  • Micropiles
  • Earth retention systems
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineeringpreferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
LOCATION
  • Must reside in the New England region.
  • Travel throughout New England as project needsrequire.
