Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager / Engineer to lead client interactions, staff coaching, and project leadership. You will prepare technical reports, plans, and specifications, and oversee geotechnical design elements including foundations and retaining walls.

This role includes cross‑functional collaboration with industry leadership, mentoring staff, and expanding services for existing clients while maintaining

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer licensure required or in active process.
• 10+ years of geotechnical experience, including field and office work.
• Experience with geotechnical investigations and construction inspections.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports, specifications, plans, and geotechnical recommendations.
• Coordinate projects, manage clients, and oversee billings.
• Mentor staff and review work for junior engineers.
• Expand services with existing clients and pursue new business.
• Support excavation designs, Plaxis 3D analysis, and field observations.
• Log borings and oversee multiple projects within budgets and schedules.
