Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager / Engineer to join its collaborative team in Milwaukee, WI. You will lead technical efforts, prepare reports and specifications, and design foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical elements in construction projects.

You will mentor staff, manage client interactions, proposals, and budgets while expanding services and ensuring high-quality deliverables. This role offers a strong career path within a global geotechnical practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineer licensure.
• 10+ years of geotechnical experience.
• Experience with geotechnical investigations and construction inspections.
• Office experience coordinating investigations, reports, and spec writing.
• Field experience in earthwork, pile construction, load testing, and retaining wall design.
• Proficiency with gINT, Slide/SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, LPILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, SHAKE.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports, specifications, construction plans, and geotechnical recommendations.
• Prepare proposals; coordinate projects, manage clients and billings.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and review of staff work.
• Expand services to existing clients and develop new clients while maintaining billability.
• Support excavation designs and Plaxis 3D analysis.
• Log borings and perform observations during construction projects.
• Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines; monitor timelines.
• Perform other duties as requested.
