Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to support surface mining, mine waste storage, and heavy civil infrastructure design. The role combines design leadership with project management across multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid Reno, NV setting.

You will lead civil/geotechnical tasks, mentor staff, and develop client relationships while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering and 8+ years of experience or equivalent
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability to pass MVR check
• MSHA Miner training preferred
• PE license preferred
• 12+ years of relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership in civil and geotechnical design for mine waste facilities.
• Serve as lead engineer on mid- to large-size mining projects.
• Mentor technical staff and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Develop proposals and support growth of the Mining practice.
• Collaborate with clients to deliver compliant, safe, and efficient designs.
• Review and sign off on engineering analyses and calculations.
