Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Geotechnical in Parsippany, NJ. This role focuses on producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans, while partnering with the project manager to research, design, and deliver complex projects.

You will develop conceptual and detailed designs, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and partners to meet project schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master or PhD in Engineering with relevant experience.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or AICP is preferred in the discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and guide project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Uses senior‑level technical expertise to consider a broad range of engineering solutions.
• Responsible for discipline‑specific planning, work distribution, leadership, schedule and budget on complex projects.
• Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget.
• Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinates technical aspects of the project with clients and teaming partners.
• Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours and distribution of work.
