GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager 1 for Geotechnical Engineering in the Richmond, VA area.

The role leads geotechnical projects and staff within the Power Generation Group, while pursuing new business opportunities and client engagement with a sign-on bonus for the right candidate. Ideal candidate has 16+ years in geotechnical engineering or engineering sales, strong communication and writing skills, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Requires 16+ years in Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Sales
• Demonstrated external customer engagements and client relationships
• Knowledge of project management concepts like pricing, budget monitoring, and profit calculation
• Willingness to learn GAI-specific PM procedures and requirements
• Strong communication and technical writing skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical projects and staff in the Richmond, VA area
• Function as a seller/doer and identify new business opportunities
• Coordinate scope, schedule, and fee with PM Coach and senior PMs
• Support contract negotiations with clients and establish client relationships
• Lead business development efforts up to 25% of duties
