Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer 3 to support Power Generation and Infrastructure projects with potential remote or hybrid work options.

The role involves geotechnical design tasks and fieldwork under supervision of a licensed engineer and/or geologist. Responsibilities include subsurface investigations, site characterization, and preparation of proposals, budgets, and reports, with travel for fieldwork in the mid-west and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or reciprocity in multiple states.
• Experience with geotechnical design and fieldwork under licensed professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical design tasks for foundations, slope stability, and earthworks.
• Coordinate subsurface investigations and field instrumentation.
• Prepare proposals, budgets, schedules, calculations, specifications and reports.
• Perform site inspections and monitor construction activities for geotechnical projects.
• Travel for fieldwork to midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and review project documents for quality assurance.
