Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering.
  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in mining.
  • Eligibility for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States.
  • Located in Phoenix, AZ, or willing to relocate.
  • Demonstrated experience with dam design, slope stability, seepage analysis, and site investigations.
  • Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics and field/lab testing.
  • Experience in safety-focused environments with incident reporting.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the design, construction, operation, and closure of tailings storage facilities
  • Perform and contribute to risk assessments, dam safety evaluations, and risk-based decision-making
  • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external partners on field programs and engineering solutions
  • Conduct geotechnical analyses, including slope stability and seepage assessments
  • Oversee site investigations, laboratory testing, and earthworks activities
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and staff
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout project lifecycles
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools for analysis and design
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including conferences and training
