Haley & Aldrich seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer I to join our Washington, DC office. You will serve as a senior technical contributor on geotechnical projects, supporting evaluations, calculations, and design deliverables, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring high-quality results.

You will develop drawings and specifications, perform field observations, and manage contractor activities under the Engineer of Record, always prioritizing safety and quality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of related experience.
• Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desire to learn and grow, strong work ethic and ownership.
• Specialized software applications relevant to geotechnical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review written communications and technical deliverables.
• Coach, mentor, and direct junior staff to ensure high-quality execution.
• Lead design drawings, specifications, and calculations for geotechnical projects.
• Conduct construction observation and contractor management under the Engineer of Record.
• Plan and perform geotechnical subsurface investigations.
• Ensure health and safety protocols are followed.
