Haley & Aldrich in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer 4 to provide expert technical and strategic consulting on complex projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and shape client outcomes while supporting proposals and business development.

The role requires a WA Professional Engineer license, 16+ years of geotechnical experience, and deep knowledge of WA geology, codes, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• 16+ years of related professional experience.
• Active Professional Engineer license in Washington.
• Senior-level experience in geotechnical projects in Washington.
• Knowledge of Washington geology, subsurface conditions, codes and regs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Experience developing geotechnical scopes, budgets and proposals.
• Experience serving public- and private-sector clients.
• Ability to act as senior technical authority for complex deliverables.
• Proven track record supporting client relationships and winning work.
• Commitment to health and safety, QA/QC, risk management and practice standards.

• Align project scopes with client objectives to deliver value.
• Develop team technical competence and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Direct and coach teams across multiple projects in your area.
• Mentor staff and support growth of practice areas.

• Lead technical evaluations, design packages, and contracts as SME.
• Oversee field/lab QA/QC and construction quality control.
• Lead work in accordance with safety protocols.
• Support proposals, interviews, and business development in WA.
