Job summary

Celnor Group is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Norfolk, VA, offering a blend of onsite and office work. The role requires PE licensure, 7+ years of geotechnical experience, and leadership to manage complex projects in soil and foundation analysis, testing, and reporting.

You will lead investigations, supervise field programs, oversee reports, and mentor staff while supporting business growth and maintaining high technical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Professional Engineer license, Virginia preferred, reciprocity eligible.
• 7+ years of geotechnical engineering consulting or construction materials testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple geotechnical and materials testing projects from proposal to final delivery.
• Direct subsurface exploration programmes including SPT, CPT, and drilling activities.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, calculations and recommendations, signing where required.
• Serve as principal technical contact for clients and project teams.
• Develop proposals, scopes, budgets, and staffing plans while supporting client growth.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality control of reports and deliverables.
