Job summary

WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our St. Louis, MO office to lead complex geotechnical projects across public and private sectors.

You will oversee data collection, analysis, and design for foundations, slopes, and underground structures, while guiding project teams and ensuring safety and quality. You will mentor staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients, regulators, and other disciplines to deliver effective, future-ready geotechnical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or geological engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of post-education geotechnical design experience.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) is required.
• Proficient in geotechnical design, analysis, and permitting processes.
• Experience with rehabilitation and reconstruction, new design, and construction projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-site geotechnical projects and manage budgets.
• Provide data analysis from field and lab sources.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Mentor staff and oversee subcontractors.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and other disciplines.
• Ensure QA/QC and safety standards across projects.
