Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Assistant VP, Geotechnical Engineer for the Creve Couer/St. Louis, Missouri office. You will lead geotechnical investigations, design, and project delivery across public and private sectors, guiding teams to deliver safe, innovative solutions.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with PMs and clients, and manage budgets, schedules, and QA/QC to meet project goals, with a focus on risk and future-ready practices across infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in geotechnical engineering or closely related discipline.
10+ years of post-education experience in engineering/geotechnical design.
Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
Strong proficiency in geotechnical design, permitting, and project delivery.
Excellent written and verbal communication; strong leadership capabilities.
Experience with planning, design, and construction management across rehabilitation and new build projects.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-site due diligence, investigation, remediation, and design.
Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; coordinate with owners and sub-consultants.
Oversee budgets, hours, expenses, and subcontractors; ensure QA/QC.
Mentor staff and engage in business development opportunities.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.
Collaborate with PMs, clients, and professionals across disciplines.
