Job summary

WSP in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex earth and environment projects. You will guide geotechnical analyses, manage data collection, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires a PE license, 3+ years of experience, and strong communication skills to mentor staff and collaborate with clients and regulators on rehabilitation, design, and construction programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and geotechnical design.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Proficient with geotechnical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and permitting.
• Experience with planning, design, and program/construction management; rehabilitation and reconstruction, new design, and construction projects.
• Proficient with technical computations and reading plans/specifications; regulatory understanding.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Occasional travel to meet project needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, samples, surveys, maps, and other matrices for project development and construction.
• Apply high-level geotechnical engineering techniques to identify improvements for complex infrastructure projects.
• Conduct investigations, soil/rock foundation engineering, settlement analysis, slope stability, and other analyses to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates with coordination across owners, disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
• Lead design and construction management from inception to completion for infrastructure projects.
• Mentor staff and stay current with geotechnical engineering methods and practices.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders on federal, state, and local projects.
