Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Geotechnical, Civil, or Water Resource Project Engineer to support field and office efforts across geotechnical, water resource, and environmental projects.

The role involves developing designs, reviewing submittals, preparing reports and cost proposals, and coordinating field exploration and construction oversight. Travel to project sites and other GEI offices is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience on interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to obtain Professional Licensure.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills; ability to supervise others.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to field- and office-related efforts on geotechnical, water resource, and environmental projects.
• Develop conceptual and final designs; review submittals and prepare reports and cost proposals.
• Oversee field exploration, inspect structures, and manage construction activities.
• Mentor staff and manage projects within the Ithaca office and beyond.
• Develop construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project schedules.
• Develop and meet project plans, schedules and budgets; maintain client relationships.
• Prepare technical and cost proposals and support business development; travel to projects and other GEI offices when required.
• Represent GEI in communications and conferences pertaining to areas of specialty.
