Job summary

Atlas, a leading environmental and infrastructure firm, seeks a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership across geotechnical investigations, design, construction support, and client coordination for diverse projects. Office in Lakewood, CO with sign-on and relocation assistance.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead subsurface explorations, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance while supporting business development and professional growth within a collaborative

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
• Minimum 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience with emphasis on design and analysis, field investigation, and construction supervision
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado
• Local experience and familiarity with the local engineering practice

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on geotechnical engineering for a wide range of projects ensuring conformance with guidelines
• Lead geotechnical design, investigation, and analysis for buildings and infrastructure
• Direct subsurface explorations, lab testing, data interpretation, and instrumentation monitoring
• Supervise geotechnical support during construction of foundations, earthwork, and related operations
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and government personnel to resolve geotechnical concerns
• Mentor and train junior geotechnical engineers and contribute to professional development
