Job summary

Atlas, a trusted environmental and infrastructure consultant, seeks a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership across diverse public and private projects, directing investigations, design and construction support, and mentoring junior engineers.

Office is in Lakewood, CO with sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. You must be a Colorado-licensed PE with at least 10 years geotechnical experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with geotechnical software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; PE license in Colorado required.
• Minimum 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience with emphasis on design, analysis, field investigations, and construction supervision.
• Local experience with Colorado engineering practice strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based work.
• Extensive geotechnical background across soil/rock mechanics and earthquake engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on geotechnical aspects for a wide range of public- and private-sector projects.
• Lead geotechnical design, investigation, and analysis for buildings and infrastructure.
• Coordinate subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, data interpretation, and monitoring.
• Supervise construction support for foundations, earthwork, and related operations.
• Mentor junior geotechnical engineers and contribute to professional development.
