Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for an on-site role in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, to deliver geotechnical solutions for roads, bridges, buildings and mining infrastructure. The candidate will plan and supervise ground investigations, analyze soil and rock data, and design foundations, earthworks, and slope stability measures, mentoring junior staff and liaising with clients and regulators.

A Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with Pr. Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng.) or strong eligibility.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive geotechnical experience.
• Experience in ground investigation and foundation design.
• Familiarity with geotechnical software PLAXIS, GEO5, Slope/W.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise geotechnical site investigations.
• Analyze and interpret soil and rock test results.
• Design foundations (shallow and deep) and earthworks.
• Conduct slope stability analyses and mitigation.
• Prepare geotechnical reports and recommendations.
• Provide input during construction phase and liaise with clients.
