Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to lead design efforts on excavation, foundation, and dam projects in the United States. You will review designs for regulatory compliance and work with senior staff to ensure quality and timeliness.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical papers, and help respond to client requests for proposals. Domestic/international travel may be required; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering.
• PE license or ability to obtain PE.
• Travel 20–40% may be required.
• Equivalent additional related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Create excavation, dewatering, foundations, dams and related geotechnical designs.
• Review designs for compliance with regulations and project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with sales to respond to RFPs and develop proposals.
• Participate in site reviews and provide design updates as needed.
