Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Geotechnical/Civil Engineer to join our team in the United States. You will design excavation, dewatering, foundations, dams/reservoirs and geo-environmental projects with guidance from senior engineers.

You will review drafts for regulatory compliance and develop technical documents for clients and journals. You will mentor junior staff, contribute to studies and white papers, and help prepare proposals in response to client requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Travel may be required; depends on duties and workload.
• Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Create excavation, dewatering, foundations and dam/reservoir designs for projects.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and mentors to others.
• Collaborate with sales staff to develop proposals and respond to RFPs.
• Meet with clients to review current and future design needs and attend conferences to raise visibility.
