Job summary

GeoWorld in San Ramon, CA is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with a specialty in Earthquake Engineering to lead seismically challenging projects and deliver innovative geotechnical solutions. You will perform seismic analyses, guide design recommendations for public and private works, and collaborate with clients, subs, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements include an MS (PhD preferred), 5+ years of experience, HAZ45 or equivalent, Python/Matlab coding, and GIS

Qualifications

• MS degree in a relevant field; PhD preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong earthquake engineering knowledge.
• Coding in Python and/or Matlab.
• HAZ45 or similar software familiarity.
• GIS experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform seismic analyses such as ergodic and non-ergodic seismic hazard, ground-motion development for projects in the Western United States, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific.
• Lead seismic development of design recommendations for design and construction of private and public projects.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients, subcontractors, government agencies, project managers (locally and in other regional offices), and peers.
• Will be assigned increasingly more complex tasks and projects.
