Job summary

GeoEngineers is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead technically challenging projects in California. You will plan field programs, supervise field staff, manage budgets and client communications, and prepare analyses and technical reports.

You will mentor junior staff, oversee field explorations and construction observations, and contribute to business development while traveling locally. A Civil Engineering degree is required; a Master’s in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant geotechnical experience.
• Minimum 4 years of project management experience.
• GE license required or to be obtained within 12 months.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Leads all project management tasks including budgets, scopes, client billings, field report reviews, contract reviews, and proposals.
• Serves as a technical resource for clients and project staff to solve complex challenges.
• Develops complete field reports, figures, and tables with minimal edits.
• Reviews deliverables and mentors staff in technical skills and best practices.
• Leads business development activities and identifies potential new clients.
• Coordinates field exploration programs and construction projects with safety and specs.
• Performs engineering analyses and develops complex models (numerical, hydraulic/hydrologic).
• Executes spatial analyses (contours, clipping, buffering) and GIS data deliverables.
