Salem Engineering Group in California seeks a Senior Engineering Geologist or Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead projects within the Geotechnical Engineering Services Division across multiple offices, including Bakersfield. This senior role will guide teams through the full project lifecycle and deliver high-quality geotechnical work.

Applicants should have 5+ years in geotechnical work, California PG/CEG or PE licensure as appropriate, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant geotechnical experience.
• California PG and CEG licensure for geology candidates.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform geotechnical field investigations, including scheduling and field work.
• Conduct visual reconnaissance and soil/rock logging.
• Carry out geologic evaluation tasks: maps, cross-sections, borehole and trench logs.
• Perform geologic hazard evaluations.
• Run analyses using hand and software tools.
• Prepare technical reports, figures, tables, and final deliverables.
• Engage in geotechnical assessments and designs.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Supervise and mentor geotechnical staff.

Position Overview

SALEM Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Geologist or Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Geotechnical Engineering Services Division in the following office Fresno, Rancho Cucamonga, Bakersfield or Modesto. This senior-level role is responsible for leading teams through the full project lifecycle.
