Job summary

GeoEngineers Inc. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead high-impact geotechnical and performance-based design projects. You will mentor a team, develop advanced models, and drive technical direction across projects in Seattle, San Diego, or Redmond offices.

The role emphasizes seismic design, project ownership, and collaboration with partners to deliver innovative solutions. Strong leadership, reporting, and client-relations skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 6+ years of experience with dynamic numerical modeling.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• Proficiency with FLAC, PLAXIS, and nonlinear deformation modeling.

Responsibilities

• Leads project management activities, including developing budgets and scopes, client billings, field report reviews, proposals, contract reviews, and coordinating with Principals and Associates.
• Serves as a senior technical resource in numerical modeling and nonlinear deformation analysis, guiding project teams.
• Develops advanced conceptual and numerical models, including dynamic/static analyses and soil-structure interaction assessments.
• Reviews and oversees deliverables from staff and mid-level engineers, providing direction and feedback.
• Mentors and develops junior staff, offering leadership in skill-building and project execution.
• Participates in business development, including identifying opportunities and maintaining client relationships.
• Leads or coordinates subsurface exploration programs and construction-phase activities with field staff.
• Prepares high-quality technical documentation including reports, figures, and tables.
