Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates is seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer for our Lehigh Valley, PA region. You will work with geotechnical and materials testing/inspections teams on a diverse set of projects for public and private clients, with potential to move into a Managing Principal role based on qualifications.

The role requires a Pennsylvania PE or eligibility via reciprocity within 3 months, and at least 12 years in geotechnical consulting.

Qualifications

• Must have local to Lehigh Valley region or willing to relocate.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 3 months of hire.
• 12+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering consulting experience.
• Willingness and ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform general geotechnical engineering tasks including preparation of reports and calculations.
• Provide technical support to field staff and review daily field reports.
• Conduct occasional project site visits related to assigned projects.
• Potentially advance to a Managing Principal depending on qualifications.
