Job summary

Hillis-Carnes is seeking a mid to senior Geotechnical engineer to join our State College, PA team. You will manage geotechnical projects, prepare reports and cost estimates, and collaborate with colleagues across Hillis-Carnes offices.

The role requires 5+ years' geotechnical report experience and an EIT or PE license. Travel to client sites and project locations is expected as part of project work.

Qualifications

• B.S. Civil Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in geotechnical report preparation.
• EIT or PE license required.
• Willing to travel and work out of town for short periods.

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish, including reports.
• Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, plans, specs, and client communications.
• Provide geotechnical support to project managers/engineers across offices.
• Support other departments (CMT/Lab) as needed.
• Maintain client relationships through thorough, professional service and communication.
