Job summary

H is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Florida offices in Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, or Orlando. You will provide geotechnical design and construction-related services for bridge and highway projects.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and a PE license. Proficiency with deep foundation design, AASHTO LRFD, and FB‑MultiPier is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• Five or more years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with deep foundation design and construction, including driven piles and drilled shafts.
• Experience applying AASHTO LRFD and applicable geotechnical design standards.
• Familiarity with numerical modeling of soil-structure interaction using FB‑MultiPier, Stress, and related software.
• Experience with pile analysis for bridge foundations and transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical design and construction-related services for bridge and highway projects.
• Perform and oversee geotechnical analyses and design for deep foundations (driven piles, drilled shafts).
• Develop and review geotechnical reports, calculations, plans, specifications, and design recommendations.
• Evaluate subsurface conditions and propose design and construction approaches.
• Support geotechnical investigations, field activities, and interpretation of subsurface data.
• Provide technical support during construction, including review of geotechnical issues and contractor submittals.
• Coordinate geotechnical design with other disciplines.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
