Job summary

GeoEngineers is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in San Diego to manage technically challenging projects, plan field programs, and mentor junior staff. You will perform analyses, prepare technical reports, and oversee field explorations and construction observations.

This role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 6+ years of experience, PM background, and a California geotechnical license or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering strongly preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 4 years of project management experience.
• GE license required or obtained within 12 months.
• Professional-level verbal and written communication skills; Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Leads project management tasks: budgets, scopes, client billings, field report reviews, contracts, proposals.
• Serves as technical resource; provides guidance to solve complex challenges.
• Develops complete field reports, figures, and tables with minimal edits.
• Reviews staff deliverables and mentors junior staff.
• Leads business-development activities and client development.
• Coordinates field exploration programs and construction projects; ensures safety and plans/specifications.
