Job description

Senior Geostructural Engineer

Senior Geostructural Engineer to add technical expertise to our Mid‑Atlantic team and support growing geostructural work across the company. Candidates will have extensive geostructural engineering design experience with a solid foundation in soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering concepts, and an interest in excavation support design and earth‑retaining systems. The role includes contractor support and developer work as well as managing and mentoring junior staff.

Our geostructural practice provides engineering services for a wide range of projects including building foundations, dams, levees, bridges, tunnels, ground treatment, and excavation support systems.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
  • Deliver technical excellence, exceed client expectations, and execute profitably
  • Provide technical leadership and senior oversight, including as Engineer of Record
  • Recruit, integrate, and train staff
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise team members
  • Develop networking partnerships with practitioners across the company
  • Lead technical teams working across multiple offices, problem‑solve, prepare plans and specifications, and meet with clients and subcontractors
  • Assist in business development activities within the practice, including developing capture strategies and preparing proposals
  • Travel locally, regionally, and nationally as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • M.S. in Structural/Geotechnical/Geostructural Engineering
  • 12+ years of professional experience in engineering consulting
  • P.E. certification
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail, balanced with proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with detailed design and specification preparation
  • Adaptable to changing workload and fast‑paced work environment
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
