Job summary

The Maryland Department of Planning’s Geospatial Data and Modeling (GDM) Unit seeks a Geospatial Data Specialist to perform advanced geospatial analysis and modeling, ensure QA/QC, and manage GIS projects that support statewide planning and sustainability goals.

The role requires leading technical work, coordinating with staff and partners, and developing ArcGIS Pro workflows, Python scripts, and SQL Server data models; telework is eligible.

Qualifications

Experience in advanced geospatial analyses and modeling.
Experience with QA/QC for geospatial data products.
Strong project management and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced geospatial analyses and modeling to support statewide planning and policy.
Lead QA/QC and oversee junior staff on geospatial tasks.
Develop and maintain data models and GIS workflows (Python, SQL).
Coordinate project delivery with internal staff and external partners.
