• Technical leadership coordinating multi-agency GIS initiatives and communicating models to non-technical audiences.
• Subject matter expertise in GIS analysis on land use or sustainable growth datasets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

The Geospatial Data Specialist serves as a senior technical expert in the Maryland Department of Planning's Geospatial Data and Modeling Unit, providing advanced spatial analysis, modeling, quality assurance, and project management for statewide GIS initiatives that support sustainable growth and land-use policy. The role requires leading complex geospatial analyses, overseeing junior staff, automating spatial workflows, and coordinating projects across internal and external partners. This position is located in Baltimore and is eligible for telework.
