Job summary
Placements24 seeks a Senior Geoscientist to enhance subsurface interpretation capabilities in a hybrid role based in Paarl, Western Cape. You will integrate seismic data with well logs and geological information to build robust subsurface models supporting exploration and development strategies.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years of seismic interpretation experience, proficiency with Petrel/Kingdom/GeoGraphix, and strong collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in seismic interpretation and subsurface modelling within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong software proficiency: Petrel, GeoGraphix, Kingdom.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data to delineate geological structures and identify potential hydrocarbon traps.
- Integrate well log, core, and geological data with seismic interpretations to build comprehensive subsurface models.
- Develop and refine geological models for exploration, appraisal, and development projects.
- Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers to support project objectives.
- Prepare clear geological reports, presentations, and maps for technical and management audiences.
