Placements24 seeks a Subsurface Geologist (Petroleum) to join our client’s exploration team in Randburg. You will analyze subsurface data to identify reservoirs, support prospect generation, and contribute to resource estimations and development planning.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, applying geological interpretations and uncertainty analyses to guide strategic decisions in the South African oil and gas sector. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Petroleum Geology, or related geoscience field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in petroleum exploration or development geology.
• Proficiency in seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom) and well data management systems.
• Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Experience with reservoir characterization techniques and uncertainty assessment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
