Job summary

Terracon seeks a mid-level Geophysicist to perform non-invasive surface surveys and borehole logging to image subsurface conditions. You will define survey objectives, design approaches, analyze data and interpret results for infrastructure projects and environmental assessments.

Role involves fieldwork, supervising staff, preparing proposals and reports, and collaborating with senior geophysicists on a range of projects. A bachelor’s in Geology or Geophysics is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geophysics.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification in field of expertise per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and report safety concerns to management.
• Conduct geophysical surveys and site visits with field data collection.
• Sample, test and document site activities; supervise field staff.
• Develop written proposals and perform quality control reviews.
• Evaluate complex geophysical data and compile written reports.
• Collaborate with senior geophysicists on larger projects.
