Job summary

The Sanborn Map Company seeks a Geomatics Engineer to provide expert processing, analysis, and modeling of geospatial data using lidar, aerial imagery, and GIS. The role emphasizes automating workflows and maintaining quality control across production pipelines.

Key duties include troubleshooting complex data issues, developing algorithms for lidar and imagery processing, and supporting project teams and clients with technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics or a related field; graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in processing and analysis of geospatial data from airborne topographic, mobile and terrestrial lidar, aerial imagery to produce raster, vector, and other derivative products.
• Troubleshoot issues related to the processing of geospatial data to support production activities and resolve complex issues.
• Develop, automate, and improve processes and workflows for lidar, imagery, vector mapping, and GIS production pipelines and quality control.
• Conduct targeted functionality reviews of software, tools, services, and frameworks for processing and analysis of geospatial data.
