Job summary

Technical Professionals Group is seeking a Chief Geologist to lead site geology, ore control, and geometallurgical initiatives at a high‑tonnage open‑pit copper operation in Arizona. You will supervise geologists and technicians, ensure QAQC across sampling and assays, and drive data governance for model updates and reporting.

You will collaborate with mine planning, metallurgy, and operations while delivering safe, compliant, and value‑generating geological inputs for short‑ to long‑range plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering required.
• Minimum 8 years in open-pit mine geology for copper operations.
• Leadership experience and team development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mine geology and ore control teams.
• Oversee daily mapping, sampling, and logging for ore control.
• Manage grade reconciliation and ore routing between plant and stockpiles.
• Integrate data into 3-D models and coordinate with engineering.
• Develop resource growth opportunities and oversee drilling programs.
• Maintain geoscience data governance and dashboards.
