Job summary

Kleinfelder's Rancho Cordova office is seeking a Senior Geological Engineer with 10+ years of experience in geological/geotechnical engineering, soil logging, foundation design, and field testing. The role is hybrid and requires travel within California; strong writing and communication skills are essential.

You will lead geotechnical exploration, manage projects, and support budgets and client updates while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• BS degree in geological/geotechnical engineering or geology; MS preferred.
• California PE license; PG/CEG preferred.
• 10+ years in consulting engineering/geotechnical fields.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical exploration programs and supervise fieldwork.
• Prepare and present technical reports to clients and review boards.
• Support project managers in budgets, client updates, and general tasks.
• Travel within California required; participate in hybrid work schedule.
• Mentor staff and drive teamwork, organization, and problem solving.
