Kleinfelder's Rancho Cordova office seeks a Senior Geological Engineer with 10+ years' experience in geological/geotechnical engineering, geology, soil logging, foundation design, and related analysis. The role involves travell within California and a hybrid schedule, with emphasis on leadership, technical reporting, and client coordination.

Ideal candidates bring strong writing, communication skills, and familiarity with rock mechanics, slopes, dams, tunnels, and field exploration.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) registered in California (ideally also PG and CEG)
• 10+ years of related experience in consulting engineering or related service business
• Exceptional attention to detail and writing skills required
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Travel within California required; travel outside California a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience leading teams and staff development
• Willingness to travel as needed to job sites and projects

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical and geological projects in California.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to clients and review boards.
• Manage budget updates and client communications across projects.
• Supervise field observations, testing, and site visits.
• Coordinate rock coring, laboratory testing, and exploration programs.
• Troubleshoot and provide client-focused solutions on projects.
• Mentor and develop staff at all levels.
