Job summary

SRK Consulting is seeking a Senior Geochemist in Reno, NV (Hybrid, USA) to join our geochemistry team. The role focuses on ARDML assessments, data analysis, field sampling, and communicating complex geochemical concepts through reports and presentations.

You will work with geochemical modeling tools, manage large datasets, and contribute to environmental mining projects while traveling as needed. A geology or geochemistry degree and strong writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

A good understanding of geochemistry, geology and mineralogy.
A degree specializing in geology or geochemistry, preferably with a higher degree involving significant aspects of environmental geochemistry and/or hydrogeochemistry.
Experience in the analysis of large geochemical datasets, including quality control, data interpretation and reporting.
General knowledge of mining-related environmental issues and regulations and policies.
Experience using geochemical modeling software packages such as PHREEQC, MINTEQ and Geochemist`s Workbench;
Proficiency in Microsoft office applications including Word and PowerPoint, with specific expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel;
Ability to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and critical analysis skills
Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to provide verbal presentations and written reports
Proven ability to work independently and generate, implement and complete multiple work assignments in a dynamic environment
Willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork
Several years of experience in applied geochemical modeling

Responsibilities

Assist the Geochemistry team in ARDML assessments of mine sites.
Assist with analysis of large geochemical datasets and interpretation of data.
Assist with mine site water quality predictions using geochemical software.
Undertake geochemical/environmental fieldwork and collect rock, soil, and water samples.
Produce high quality technical reports communicating geochemical information to non-specialists.
Assist with project organization, documentation, and reporting procedures.
Perform other duties as required in line with the role.
