Job summary

Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. seeks a Generator Technician to support its Southern California division. You will diagnose and service standby generators, perform preventive maintenance, and advise clients on operation and upkeep.

Ideal candidates have eight years of hands-on generator experience, familiarity with major brands, and the ability to travel between Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire. A strong safety mindset and reliable vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Eight years of generator maintenance experience in commercial settings.
• Basic understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA safety practices.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle background check.
• Proficient English communication, both written and verbal.
• Own personal hand tools for mechanical work and voltage testing.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and diagnose issues with standby generators.
• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, filter and battery replacements, belts, spark plugs.
• Work with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, Detroit Diesel systems.
• Handle DC and AC voltage, troubleshoot ATS, and conduct load bank testing.
• Educate end users on operation and basic maintenance procedures.
• Read schematics and wiring diagrams; maintain records of inspections and repairs.
• Operate company vehicle and complete fleet maintenance reports; communicate with management and clients.
