Job summary

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, & Plumbing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Generator Technician to support its Southern California division.

Technicians may begin their service routes from their home address and travel across Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire. The ideal candidate will have eight years of hands-on generator maintenance and repairs, with strong knowledge of CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler or Detroit Diesel systems.

Qualifications

• Eight years of hands-on generator maintenance experience required.
• Basic understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA safety practices.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Proficient English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Must have personal hand tools for mechanical work and voltage testing.
• Willingness to travel to Orange County, Los Angeles County, and Inland Empire.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and diagnose generator issues (gasoline/natural gas).
• Perform routine maintenance: oil, filters, belts, spark plugs, batteries.
• Service CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel systems.
• Work with DC/AC voltage and ATS.
• Conduct load bank testing and routine reporting.
• Read schematics and technical manuals; complete fleet maintenance records.
• Educate end users on generator operation and maintenance.
• Communicate service needs and recommendations to clients.
