Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, conducts inspections and functional testing on manufactured generator systems to ensure adherence to electrical codes and safety before energization on-site at the manufacturing plant. This role requires NFPA 70E certification (which PowerSecure may provide if needed), the ability to interpret manuals and safety rules, and precise documentation of test results.

It is a hands-on position in a manufacturing and testing environment with PPE required at

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• NFPA 70E certification required. Certification may be provided by PowerSecure if other qualifications are satisfactory.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operations manuals, and written instructions.
• Ability to follow reporting guidelines and accurately document test results and product specifications.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure to determine splice plate length, voltage measurements, and amperage ratios.
• Ability to wear and maintain required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Locate, organize, and maintain documentation for specific jobs.
• Perform inspections and testing procedures in accordance with established quality standards.
• Execute test sequences as dictated by project documentation and engineering requirements.
• Record test results and component specifications accurately.
• Move equipment using a forklift or pallet jack.
• Remove and reinstall panels weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Support quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
